LONG-DISTANCE LOVE IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE: RUBINA & ARBIND’S RELAXED AND CANDID ENGAGEMENT SHOOT
We’ve always said that engagement shoots should feel like you - not like a photoshoot. Just you two, in your own rhythm, doing your thing while we quietly document it all. That’s exactly what this session with Rubina & Arbind was about.
When they first got in touch, they told us they were having a religious engagement ceremony and wanted some relaxed, candid photos beforehand - something that felt natural and true to them. Rubina’s from Canada, Arbind’s from London, and they met in Australia, so between the long distance and busy lives, they hadn’t had many chances for photos together until now.
A Long-Distance Love Story Captured on Film
They were drawn to the idea of old English charm for their location, so we headed to Eastcote Gardens in Buckinghamshire, which is full of interesting architecture, quiet corners, and endless texture. The perfect backdrop for a documentary-style engagement shoot with that editorial twist Rubina had her heart set on.
Things ran a little behind schedule (as they often do), so we ended up with about half an hour of shooting time - but honestly, that energy worked in our favour. No overthinking, no awkward posing, just connection, movement, and a few bursts of laughter in between.

We mixed digital and 35mm film photography, which give the gallery a beautiful balance of crisp, cinematic digital shots alongside dreamy, nostalgic film frames. Together, they told the story exactly as it unfolded: unforced, emotive and full of quiet, authentic moments that really capture who they are as a couple.
What we love most about this shoot is how effortlessly ‘them’ it feels. Nothing staged or overdone, even the more ‘still’ frames show how they naturally moved and stood together - just two people carving out a calm little moment before the celebrations began.
