BEHIND THE LENS: STORY-DRIVEN wEDDING photography
Hey! We’re The Twigs, aka Paul (he/him) & Suz (she/her). We are a husband and wife team who’ve been documenting love stories since 2013.
In that time we’ve shot 200+ weddings, had our work published in print, and been recognised as one of the Top 50 Wedding Photographers in the UK in 2023 & 2024. We’ve also recently been named one of Hitched UK’s most recommended wedding photographers - an award based entirely on reviews from real couples.
Our photography style reflects our personalities and is authentic and relaxed. We approach each wedding with a creative curiosity that allows us to tell your day, uniquely. We’re not here for trends, we’re here to artfully tell YOUR story. We’ll never ask ask you to recreate something just because it fits the latest Insta craze, or an outdated tradition or stereotype.
Paul is the face behind the lens, whereas Suz oversees the client journey and is editor-in-chief. We’re passionate about creating a wedding experience that’s different. We want to get to know you, learn what makes you laugh, cry and what your love language is. We shoot with intention and knowing you helps us document your truest selves.
We want to create something that’s beyond transactional. We want to make you feel.
FIVE FUN FACTS:
1) Our surname isn't actually Twig, it’s Wilkinson. Our clients started calling us ‘The Twigs’ and it just sort of stuck - it’s a bit like a superhero alter ego though so we‘re cool with it!
2) We love to travel, both in the UK and abroad - one of our favourite places to visit is the Greek island of Mykonos.
3) Our first dance was the iconic routine from Pulp Fiction to Chuck Berry’s ‘You Never Can Tell’ (sounds cooler than it is as we have absolutely no rhythm).
4) We don’t take inspo from other wedding photographers, instead we look to places like fashion magazines, architecture and film for our cues.
5) We’re obsessed with pizza. And yes, we do absolutely believe that pineapple is a valid topping choice.
Our Style & Approach
When it comes to how we work, it’s all about balance. We’ll quietly document the day as it naturally unfolds - the laughter, the in-between glances, the way your people show up for you. But we’ll also step in with a bit of gentle art direction when the moment calls for it. Think relaxed guidance that helps you feel confident in front of the camera, without ever pulling you out of the experience.
We’re here to tell the full story - not just the big moments, but the quiet ones too. The result? A gallery that feels honest, emotive, and beautifully you, with a mix of cinematic candids and editorial portraits that pack a punch.
Our inspiration comes from the world of fashion, film, and architecture. Whether we’re shooting digitally or on film, everything is edited with our signature nostalgic style - timeless, stylish, and full of feeling.
Personal Lives
We’re inspired by the things around us and much of what we do outside of work has creative roots - we love film and theatre, reading and music (Suz is a little bit obsessed with Harry Styles, whereas Paul has a rather more eclectic music taste with favourites spanning from Led Zeppelin, Miles Davies and Hans Zimmer to the Sugababes).
We’d rather collect memories than stuff and are currently working our way around as many luxury treehouse stays in the UK as possible (our favourite so far is Chewton Glen).
Home for us is in Telford, Shropshire, but we love to travel and photograph weddings across the UK and abroad.
