A preview of images from Dawn & Craig’s fairytale day at Hadley Park Hotel, Telford.
We first met Dawn & Craig during the early part of 2018 and we instantly clicked. From the offset it felt like chilling with a couple of friends in planning their wedding photography, rather than simply a business transaction, and we just knew instantly we’re all on a similar wave length.
What do you do when the bride & groom’s vintage bus breaks down on the way to their portrait session? You take a cue from Oasis and just roll with it - capturing some utterly awesome and unique shots at the roadside, whilst simultaneously thinking about the fun you’ll have coming up with an appropriate song choice for the highlights reel!
10 points to Gryffindor if anyone can guess what classic transport-related tune might accompany this selection of images from Jonathan & Coleen’s wedding day?!
Sometimes when writing these blogs words flow abundantly, others, it’s difficult to move past a few words. Not because there’s nothing to say, but because a handful of simple words or phrases encapsulate the couple and their day so perfectly.
Three things resonated at Daniel & Zoe’s wedding day on 1st November, 2018 at The Barns Hotel in Cannock - love, laughter and happy-ever-after. This was reflected in all manor of things from little looks captured between the bride and groom, to the Disney-themed table decorations (Zoe is even now Mrs Potts!), and the roars of laughter that could be heard throughout the day.
Mr Twig and I are both creative beings and, let’s be honest, as creatives we seek validation for our art wherever it may be found. Sometimes this may be via a comment on a blog or social media post, through reviews left by clients or a thoughtfully written thank you note.
When Alex and Samantha planned their outdoor tipi wedding at the beautiful Wroxeter Hotel, near Shrewsbury, they hadn’t accounted for Callum. Callum was an obnoxious beast, causing havoc and mayhem in the 24 hours preceding this awesome couple’s dream day.
Callum was the epitome of ‘the uninvited wedding guest’ and, worst of all, he was full of wind.
No, we’re not talking about some distant relative with flatulence, we’re talking Storm Callum. With wind speeds of up to 80mph, and amidst fears of the tipis taking off in Dorothy ‘we’re not in Kansas anymore Toto’ style, the decision was made to move Alex & Sam’s wedding indoors at the last minute.
🎶 Raindrops keep falling on my head..., ba da da dah-da, da dum... 🎶
This is what Mrs Twig had to listen to almost the entire time Mr Twig was editing these gorgeous images from Jack & Natalie's wedding day. You see, raindrops did indeed keep a' fallin' on this mid-summer's day but no-one was going to let a downpour washout this awesome wedding.
It was a tale as old as time as Jessica & Jake embarked upon a whole new world as Mr & Mrs.
The pair were married at Llanmynech Church, followed by a marquee reception on the Shropshire/Welsh border on 16th June, 2018. From the Disney styling, Birds of Prey display and even a musical best man's speech, the day was jam packed with as much magic and wonder as any fairytale.
The wedding of Sam & Jay has felt like such a long time coming as they booked us way back before Mrs Twig even joined the business full time. And boy, was it worth the wait!
The pair were wed at the stunning St Michael's Church in Madeley, followed by a reception at The Park House Hotel in Shifnal on 27th May, 2018.
You might think that shooting weddings for a living can become a repetitive montage of ceremonies, cakes and speeches but, for us, that's just not the case. We love getting to know our clients and finding out just what makes them tick and, in doing so, each and every wedding becomes its own tale to tell.
Some are fairytales, some are romantic comedies and some, like Gavin & Lucy's wedding day, are straight up Hollywood blockbusters. High speed, monster truck motorway scene - check (okay, maybe more mediocre speed and dual carriageway, but you get the idea), romance - check, emotional reveal scene - check.
