What do you do when the bride & groom’s vintage bus breaks down on the way to their portrait session? You take a cue from Oasis and just roll with it - capturing some utterly awesome and unique shots at the roadside, whilst simultaneously thinking about the fun you’ll have coming up with an appropriate song choice for the highlights reel!
10 points to Gryffindor if anyone can guess what classic transport-related tune might accompany this selection of images from Jonathan & Coleen’s wedding day?!
Sometimes when writing these blogs words flow abundantly, others, it’s difficult to move past a few words. Not because there’s nothing to say, but because a handful of simple words or phrases encapsulate the couple and their day so perfectly.
Three things resonated at Daniel & Zoe’s wedding day on 1st November, 2018 at The Barns Hotel in Cannock - love, laughter and happy-ever-after. This was reflected in all manor of things from little looks captured between the bride and groom, to the Disney-themed table decorations (Zoe is even now Mrs Potts!), and the roars of laughter that could be heard throughout the day.
If you’ve been following us for a while you will know that we have broken ground with our unique boudoir photography, creating a style that is the perfect combination of timeless elegance and playful seduction. Our boudoir sessions are not overtly sexual, tacky or titillating, they are a representation of you, your body and your story, told through a celebration of femininity.
Clients were coming to us more and more for a boudoir shoot as a pre-wedding gift for their partner so we thought why not make these sessions even more special by offering a full bridal boudoir package - our classic boudoir experience, re-envisoned for the bride-to-be.
🎶 Look at this, isn’t it neat, wouldn’t it make your photo collection complete…. 🎶
Calling all merbabes! We’re making waves with our Limited Edition mermaid photo shoots.
If you’ve always wanted to know what it’s like under the sea the now is your chance to embrace your inner Ariel.
Politics and weddings probably aren’t two topics you’d expect to see coupled together in the same sentence (unless you are considering the fallout from sitting Auntie Jean next to cousin Frank at the reception when they haven’t spoken for 15 years). However, since becoming wedding suppliers ourselves, Mr Twig and I have realised that this industry is all about politics, cliques and inner circles that are more difficult than those little single serve sauce sachets to break into (I mean, seriously, could restaurants make it more obvious they don’t want you to use the condiments?!).
But, what does this mean for you, the client? Well, ultimately, you are in danger of being hoodwinked.
We love to blog at The Branch but, lately, we’ve been so busy creating our iconic vintage photography that we just haven’t had time to sit down and write something new.
So we’ve had a ponder and we’ve come up with some pretty nifty ideas, if we do say so ourselves!
It struck us that our most popular social media posts by far are our ‘sneaky peek’ images so, going forward, we’ll not only be treating you to more sneaky peeks than ever before via the blog, but also highlight reels, behind-the-scenes images and other bits and pieces from the majority of our shoots (subject to client consent, of course). This way you get to see more of the things you love and we can make regular blog posts with ready-made content. It’s a bit like having your cake and eating it (mmm cake).
The venue is booked, flowers chosen, photographer selected and you’ve found ‘the one’ wedding dress. As the final wedding preparations draw closer there’s not long to wait until you say those two important words, ‘I Do.’ Two important little words that can mean the start of something beautiful, you’re in love, you cannot be prised apart, you want to be together forever… Yup, there’s no denying it, for a bride some of the most important I Do’s and I Don’ts of a wedding are related to the contents of her (or her makeup artist’s) cosmetics bag. It’s a relationship that you’ve dreamed of, one that guarantees longevity, has no imperfections and maintains a radiant appeal.
Whether you choose to go it alone or employ the services of a professional artist for your big day, get it right and you’ll be making a commitment for life to your beauty regime.
Why is wedding photography so expensive? This is a question we get asked so often and it’s a good question, after all photography is just pointing a camera in the general vicinity of the subject and pressing a button, right?
Anyone can do it.
It’s a bit like asking your best mate who has just procured that tiny new micro-drill to perform a root canal. Saves a few quid so what’s the harm, eh?
As the wife of a boudoir photographer, I am often asked if I mind that my husband spends much of his time surrounded by women in their underwear. The short, and somewhat surprising, answer is no. Granted, it takes a little getting used to being confronted with images of half-naked women staring out at me from the office computer as I happen by - but there’s something more to these images than bare flesh.
I know what you’re thinking, what you’d say if you were in my shoes. If it were you the buxom blonde was staring out at from your computer screen. You’d be thinking ‘another woman who thinks she has to take her clothes off to succeed/get ahead/please her partner.’ Delete as appropriate. I know because that’s what I thought, initially (after asking my husband if he’d considered a career in landscape photography).
